Welcome to my site! It lists every song that has ever entered the official Top 100 Singles Chart in Australia since 1950. Over 82% of those songs have streaming audio which can be played as individual tracks or via one of the site's many jukeboxes/playlists. Being able to hear the songs can be helpful for people who don't always know the name of songs that they like or have heard. I created this site to help people reconnect with songs that they've liked from the past and to discover many more! |

your sight is the greatest the best refference to ausie charts from the 70's, two thing bay city rollers-bye bye baby can you put the original
ReplyDeletein but the big one is could you go back to 67 maybe, nita the birth of the genre even just the charts without links would be sufficient, please think on it, by the way in no way is that minimising or critisizing the magnificience youve already created, thank you forever Andrea
Thanks Andrea. I was too young to be a music buyer in the '70s and '80s so I really appreciate it when somebody lets me know that I'm using the wrong (or inferior) version of a song, especially when it's songs from that era. If you can, could you please point me to where I can hear or purchase the correct version of "Bye Bye Baby". Perhaps a YouTube clip of it?
ReplyDeleteI'm currently in the process of trying to acquire information for the Australian Top 100 singles entries from the '60s. It's something that's been in the back of my mind for a little while now and hopefully one day I can add them to the site.

DeleteWoah... guess Andrea never got back to you on that Bay City Rollers song! Don't know who's singing there, but it sure isn't Les McKeown... you need this version... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUwW108ITzw - saw these guys live in 75 and they were awesome :) Hope you can fix it!!
ReplyDeleteCorrect Meg, it sounds like Eric Faulkner singing and singing was never his forte. Probably from the 90s. Much prefer either the original as it transports me back to the 70s or the the current new generation BCRs that Woody has formed with Ian Thomson on lead vocal.
DeleteThis is a really cool site. Thank you for providing it.
ReplyDeleteI think this site is absolutely brilliant. Keep up the good work!!
ReplyDeletePlease remove your grossly inferior version of To The Door Of The Sun by Al Martino. It's the foreign language version. You need your acquire the English language version. The lyrics are simply stunning in English. The foreign language version is rendered meaningless if you can't understand the lyrics. - Sandy from Rosewood.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandy, thank you for your feedback. I've replaced the English/Italian version on my site with a fully English version. Hopefully it's the one you remember, if not, please point me to where I can hear the correct version (a YouTube link, etc.)
DeleteHi Sandy, I've moved some of your posts in the Message Box to here...
ReplyDeleteSandy: Grant, a few songs where you're playing grossly inferior versions. Speak To The Sky Rick Springfield
Sandy: C'mon Aussie C'mon Mojo Singers. No. One song Feb 79. So you should be able to source the original.
Sandy: Reach Out I'll Be There Gloria Gaynor 75. Try to source the version Gloria wearing bright red dress.
Sandy: Shine On Brisbane JH Group 82. Your version is terrible. Song huge in Brisbane in 82.
Sandy: I'm a Brent James disciple. My peak music years are 1965-1983. A cluster of 19 years.
Sandy: My top ten years for music: 1.'75 2.'76 3.'77 4.'73 5.'69 6.'74 7.'72 8.'71 9.'80 10.'79.
Sandy: Hey Grant, I bet you're based in W.A. The time given on the posts is a give away.
Sandy: My favourite song of all time: What The World Needs Now Is Love by Tom Clay. Powerful and emotional.
:)
