Welcome to my site! It lists every song that has ever entered the official Top 100 Singles Chart in Australia since 1950. Over 82% of those songs have streaming audio which can be played as individual tracks or via one of the site's many jukeboxes/playlists. Being able to hear the songs can be helpful for people who don't always know the name of songs that they like or have heard. I created this site to help people reconnect with songs that they've liked from the past and to discover many more! |

Grant,
ReplyDeleteWhere r u at with the weekly top 100 singles charts?
So far only '74 to '77 are available.
Leonardo
Hi Leonardo. The weekly charts are a work-in-progress. I'm not sure when I'll be posting the next batch of them.
ReplyDeleteHi Grant,
ReplyDeleteWeekly top 100 singles charts looking good!
Any idea when weeks from Dec 1979 - March 1980 would be done?
Adrian
Hi Adrian. It's embarrassing to admit but I've actually forgotten how to make the weekly charts. Most of the chart column numbers are calculated by algorithms that I wrote nearly two years ago. I do remember having to pay special attention to the chart data as I was processing it to avoid incorrect outputs. I'm pretty much going to have to read my code again and work out how I did it, then I'll commit to finishing the job. I can't tell you when this will be though. It's definitely on the back burner. ;(
ReplyDeleteAll good. Where is the source data that you get it from; is it public?
ReplyDeleteCheers, Adrian.
I'm not aware of any complete and accurate weeklies on the Web but if you contact me via my email form, I can send them to you. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Grant
ReplyDeleteCan you please please send them to me too.
I Missing 83 to 89 in my collection, and I searched all over for them in a looooong time.
I would really really appriciate it.
Cheers, Ralph from Denmark
Hi Ralph, if you contact me via my email form, I can send them to you. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Grant
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely brilliant sight. Very well done. I've been listening to your music since the mid 00's. Your Australian content for me is what this so amazing. Very difficult to find good AU charts but the audio link well that just the best. Could you possibly add a shuffle ability? Only if you can easy of course. I love your sight it is unique and as an AU its the best. Thank you so
Hi, at the top of every list (between the list's title and the list itself) there's a link called "shuffled" that launches a jukebox of all the list's audio in a shuffled order. :)
DeleteDo you have any end of year charts from the Australian Music Report from 1989 to 1998? Not the ARIA ones.
ReplyDeleteHi Dean. Yes, I do. If you contact me via my email form, I can send them to you. :)
DeleteHi Grant, thanks for this! Just an observation, when looking at the chart for July 28, 1986, it says 'week ending July 28 1986'. July 28 1986 was a Monday and the chart was published on July 27 (Sunday), so it should be 'week beginning July 28 1986' if I'm not mistaken? How do I know this? Because I was born July 29, 1986... a Tuesday! Unless the 'chart week' for the Kent report ended on a Monday of course?
ReplyDeleteHi Billy Bob. The Kent Music Reports just state a date - no mention of whether it's a commencing or ending date, so I looked into it and I think you're right. A printed ARIA chart from around that period (ARIA was licensing the KMR/AMR chart at the time) has an 'ending on' date which is six days after its equivalent Kent Music Report chart. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I've made the necessary changes. :)
